Despite the fact that the worldwide web has made inroads into the reading habits of children all over the globe, the indispensability of the book-reading practice can never be replaced. The school has a full-fledged well-stocked library with spacious reference and reading areas for the benefit of all students in their pursuit of knowledge. The library has been neatly categorized subject-wise for easy reference based on the age and class groups. The entire operation is computerized including the acquisition of books, cataloguing, lending, financial transactions, reminder follow-up, return, renewal and allocation of books. The Swami Vivekanand Public School library has a collection of 5000 books on all kinds of academic and non-academic subjects which are very useful for extra reading and widening horizons. The junior section consists of subjective books, fiction and audio-visual aids. The books are periodically renewed and updated. The senior section comprise subject specific books, Encyclopaedias, Science journals, periodicals, question banks, closed reference books. Apart from regular books relating to academic subjects, the library also subscribes to top journals and publications in various areas for faculty members. Daily newspaper reading is another part in routine work of every student. Also available are a huge collection of educational CDs, database of videos related to informative and interesting episodes of National Geographic Channel, Animal Planet, BBC and Discovery Science, etc. No wonder Swami Vivekanand Public School’s library is a hub for excellent and exclusive learning beyond classrooms!

We are living in the age of globalization which in itself is an outcome of technology, communication and IT- and Swami Vivekanand Public School’s Computer Lab has it all! Computer Lab at Swami Vivekanand Public School is fully networked and equipped with latest computers to accommodate 75 students proves technology is not simply taught as a ‘stand alone’ class; rather every effort is made to incorporate technology as an information gathering tool into the subject specific area. We challenge our students and inspire them to expand their way of thinking. As our students begin to truly believe in themselves and their abilities, they develop the skills to succeed in school and life. Here we introduce our students with compact form of computers i.e. is laptops & inbuilt touchpad.

Subject-centric Design

Used for courses like Maths, Biology, etc. The curriculum is designed as per the subject being taught. Each topic in the subject is taught as per the examples. This design model doesn’t take into the picture the capabilities of the students taking up the course and hence may not be suitable for all.
Learner-centred Design

This design aims to customize the curriculum as per the needs of the student. Its core philosophy is that each student is unique and there is no standard curriculum which can fit all of them. Differentiated instruction plans can be prepared to suit each student as per their requirement. But since there is a constraint of time and also to figure out what each student needs uniquely this method also has its disadvantages.
Problem-centred Design

This method aims at exposing the students to practical situations and problems so that they can apply their knowledge to solve them. This method helps the students to remember what they learned and the knowledge sticks with them for a long time. The disadvantage is that this method doesn’t suit all students.
